Το αεροδρόμιο Χίθροου του Λονδίνου θα παραμείνει κλειστό μέχρι τα μεσάνυχτα της Παρασκευής (21/03), μετά από πυρκαγιά που «ξέσπασε» σε ηλεκτρικό υποσταθμό που τροφοδοτεί τον αερολιμένα.
«Η πυρκαγιά προκάλεσε σημαντική διακοπή ρεύματος και άφησε χιλιάδες σπίτια χωρίς ρεύμα, την ίδια ώρα που η Πυροσβεστική προσπαθεί να θέσει υπό έλεγχο την πυρκαγιά» αναφέρουν βρετανικοί ιστότοποι διεθνών πληροφοριών.
Μάλιστα, σε ανακοίνωσή του στην ιστοσελίδα του και σε κοινοποίηση στα μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης, το αεροδρόμιο του Χίθροου ανέφερε ότι συνιστάται σε όλους τους επιβάτες να μην πλησιάσουν το αεροδρόμιο.
